In Uddenberg’s works, hyper-sexualized female figures confront the audience with extreme postures, seemingly submissive or performed under societal pressure—while actually they’re stretching, bending, overdoing themselves to disturb and reposition the viewer as an active participant. In this exhibition, accompanied by an artist book published by KALEIDOSCOPE, a recent series of non-figurative works continues to explore these topics through the concept of “comfort zone.”

In her sculptural works, ergonomic figure/object hybrids oscillate between performative armature and gaudy narco-architecture, questioning function, style, sexuality, and the tropes of female identity as mediated by consumer culture.
MILANO411 thinks her work is pure GENIUS and of the future. Will porn become art. We hope not for two reasons. One, anyone can make porn. But art is something not everyone can do. Second, although the artists were sometimes naughty with in their personal lives; however, they were chosen because there works were beautiful and deep, and designed for the ages. Only a time machine to a possible Trumpistan-inspired, version of Idiocracy can tell. But her work isn’t to be made fun of, because she is a woman taking control of male dominated imagery for her benefit and expression. This is VERY MILANO…If you’re in Milano in June or July, go check her out.

It’s only by appointment only. Contact on the gallery site:
