MILANO411.com presents a TED-X talk worth seeing and worthy of our POLITICO column. What makes the philosophical roots of a conservative and a liberal; using an socio-political American context? Answer….this video! This video looks at the USA using one of the most beautiful examples of ITALIAN design. That would be The David. The David actually sits in Florence, Italy. So stop coming to MILANO and asking to see The David and blaming it on this magazine! Just kidding…but really, some Americans do think it’s in Milan and that is a story for another day.

Using the Italian symbol, and actually the symbol of this magazine too; psychologist Jonathan Haidt studies the five moral values that form the basis of our political choices, whether we’re left, right, or center. In this eye-opening talk, he pinpoints the moral values that liberals and conservatives tend to honor most. Jonathan Haidt studies how — and why — we evolved to be moral. By understanding more about our moral roots, his hope is that we can learn to be civil and open-minded. This is a fascinating video for our political times here in America. Well if it doesn’t work out, there’s always MILANO. Ciao from Milano…

The fascinating conclusion, is there is hope and both sides have good means or values; with the exception of the far elements of things on the right. You can’t make FASCISM look good, in any shape or form.
